Accepted Formats

UCW Wise accepts files in the following formats:

• Text
  • Preferred text formats: .pdf; .txt
  • Other accepted text formats: .doc/.docx, .ppt/.pptx/.ppsx, .xls/.xlsx, .csv  
• Video
  • Preferred video formats: .avi, .mkv, .mov, .mp4/.m4v, .mpg
• Audio
  • Preferred audio formats: .mp3
  • Other accepted audio formats: .ac3, .aif/.aiff, .wav, .wma
• Images  
  • Preferred image formats: .pdf, .jpeg/.jpg, .png
  • Other accepted formats: .tiff, .bmp, .gif

All files must be attached directly to the UCW Wise submission form. If you are interested in submitting a file format that is not included in this list, please email wise@ucanwest.ca prior to submission. 

Format Accessibility

When including files for submission, please consider incorporating accessibility improvements such as closed captioning for video content, transcripts for audio content, and alt text for image content. Using an accessible format will encourage maximal engagement with your work and increase the chance of your submission’s uptake in scholarly research.
